Freedom

Today I was reminded of God’s power and love.

As I was getting ready this morning I realised it. I am free.

I am free from the hatred of myself, the world and not feeling good enough.

‘He pulled me out of a dangerous pit,
    out of the deadly quicksand.
He set me safely on a rock
    and made me secure.’

Psalm 40:2

Years ago I struggled loads I felt small, inadequate, ugly, powerless but then my eyes opened and my heart held onto the truth, the Gospel. I realised this morning a lot has changed since then, I know where my worth comes from and I know its not from earthly things but from my identity in Christ.

As I was standing there I looked back and remembered what I used to be like and oh boy I am AMAZED at God.

I am in AWESOME WONDER.

God has taken my broken heart, which I never thought could be restored. He has been collecting every single piece and putting them back together one by one.

God is so GOOD.

It’s not often I step back and look at how far God has brought me, but when I do it’s such a  great reminder of his powerful and steadfast love.

‘In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.

What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.’
